The Ride of Silence will be May 20th this year.
If you don't know about the ride of Silence check out
The ride is usually 10 miles long or less, 10 MPH or less, and should pass the sites where cyclists were struck, especially those who were killed, in the last year or more.
There is huge impact to the motorists to see silent riders with their lights on ( no blinking) as in a funeral procession. Cyclists should wear a black armband for those who have been killed by a motorist, Red armband if they have ever been struck by a Motorist and lived to tell about it.
I'm looking for someone to organize the ride in Albuquerque as I have done it for the past few years and wish to pass the torch. I will assist this year. Please reply if you can.
Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Rio Rancho, Farmington, Roswell, Carlsbad, Raton, etc. should all have their own ride.
Wheels rolling at 7PM WORLD WIDE!!!!!
Thank you

The Ride of Silence...
Tonight we number many but ride as one
In honor of those not with us, friends, mothers, fathers, sisters, sons With helmets on tight and heads down low, We ride in silence, cautious and slow The wheels start spinning in the lead pack But tonight we ride and no one attacks The dark sunglasses cover our tears Remembering those we held so dear Tonight's ride is to make others aware The road is there for all to share To those not with us or by our side, May God be your partner on your final ride |
