[nmlci] Un-Road Trip across America arriving in ABQ

Boaz Frankel will be arriving in Albuquerque this Wednesday on the 12:12 Train. Cyclists are welcome to greet him at the Alvarado Station. It would be great if we could get lots of bicycles there as his cameras roll. He will depart the same time on Thursday.

Anyone interested in being interviewed or showing off our city and alternative transportation modes to him please contact Craig Degenhardt at Craig at BikeABQ dot org

I have been in communication with him and he's excited to see the Duke City.

Hi Craig,

I'm a TV/Video producer, and I was hoping you might be able to help with my latest project.  For a quick introduction, you can watch a short trailer for the project, (narrated by Matt Lauer), and see some recent press coverage at http://www.unroadtrip.com/about.html

On April 19th, I set out on an Un-Road Trip.  For ten weeks, I'm exploring the United States and zig-zagging through as many states as I can using every mode of transportation- except for car.  I'm documenting the entire journey online through photos and short documentary videos as I travel by foot, bike, train, dog sled, biplane, kayak, moped, horseback, and whatever else I can think of.  I'll certainly achieve a "greener" trip by avoiding the favored mode of transportation, (and hopefully discover some interesting alternative modes of transit), but I also think it will thrust me into unique situations and introduce me to people  and places that the standard road-tripper would simply drive past.  Through unroadtrip.com, people are following the trip in real-time and interacting with the journey; suggesting modes of transportation or offering a couch to sleep on.

I'll be in Albuquerque from noon on Wednesday April 29th to noon on Thursday April 30th and I was hoping we could meet up to talk about biking in New Mexico.  Maybe we could go for a ride and check out some of your bike lanes.  Or maybe you know some people in the area who have some especially unique bikes?  Let me know what you think, and I hope we can set something up.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Boaz Frankel
